In Spring 2019, I took the Intro to Exceptional Learners course from Florida Gateway College in Lake City, Florida. Throughout the course, I examined the course content through the lens of an outdoor education teacher.
Below I’m sharing a chart that accompanied my paper about meeting the needs of developmentally delayed children. I hope it helps educators, administrators and parents realise that children’s needs can be met both indoors and outdoors. Sometimes specific strategies, interventions, accommodations or modifications might be required to help children be successful.
I’d love to hear from you. Do you take your students outdoors to learn? What strategies, interventions, accommodations or modifications do you use to help all students succeed?
