I’ve waited five long years for this day!

We finally got enough snowfall, and more importantly the right kind of snow, to build a snow fort!

The children had a great time shovelling snow, filling wheelbarrows, and transporting the snow to their building site. We packed the snow in a rectangular container to make our blocks. We cut the rectangle blocks with a serrated knife when we needed square blocks. We’re crossing our fingers that more snow falls tonight.
The children and I hope the forecast is correct and we will wake up to a fresh new blanket of snow covering our outdoor learning space tomorrow. As the day warms, we should have the lovely “sticky” snow we need to continue construction!
